ABOUT US
The Rome Volunteer Fire Department, established in 1962, is comprised of 27 members serving over 9,000 citizens of Rome Township and the Village of Athalia.
Led by Chief Nick Kuhn, the department serves a 37 square mile area and responds to an average of 500 calls per year.
Rome Fire Department shares mutual aid agreements with neighboring fire departments in Lawrence & Gallia counties in Ohio and Cabell County, West Virginia.
The Rome Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. exists to meet needs created by a variety of crisis situations that demand a quick, efficient and professional emergency response.
We strive to provide the highest quality service while maximizing the productivity of our staff and reducing costs whenever possible.
It is through our prevention, education and training efforts that we strive to prevent, prepare for, or otherwise limit, the extent of any fire or emergency.
